The Jewish Museum of Maryland remembered victims of genocide on Sunday by holding a community vigil. Organizers hope that remembering humanity at its worst will inspire humanity to be its best. The vigil was held at the Lloyd Street Synagogue.

The Coalition for Preserving Memory, a Duke student organization, held a 24-hour name reading ceremony April 9th through 10th to honor genocide victims from the 20th and 21st centuries.

This Monday around 80 student volunteers arrived at The Rock for Together We Remember, a twelve-hour reading of the names of genocide victims. This was the first time Northwestern participated in the international campaign, which was brought to campus by five freshmen. Our Sam Bernitz talked to organizers Juliana Iturralde and Ben Chase about the ceremony. In the Weekly's newest section, Week on the Street, we asked students what they knew (and didn't know) about Evanston's Mayoral election on Tuesday. Sam Bernitz and Molly Glick contributed to this podcast.
