Virtual Poetry Open Mic: What Does "Never Again" Mean to You?

TIME: 7 PM ET / 4 PM PT | PLATFORM: Zoom | REGISTER: bit.ly/TWRpoetryslam

In honor of #GenocideAwarenessMonth, join diverse youth across America for a virtual poetry open mic to transform remembrance into action in the fight against division and hate. If you have a story to share, we want to hear it and see you perform it LIVE! We are accepting submissions via Instagram, which you can submit using the hashtag #TWRPoetry. You can also email us your poem at info@togetherweremember.org. Join the next generation of leaders who believe in humanity’s power to make “never again” a reality if we come together as one.

How to Nominate Yourself or a Peer:

Submit your poem on Instagram by using the hashtags #TWRPoetry and #TogetherWeRemember. You can also tag us at @tgthrweremember. The deadline to submit your poetry is Friday, 4/24 at 11:59PM ET.

Your poem can be a video of you performing it or a picture with the poem in the text area of your post. Leaders of the TWR Youth Action Network will select top submissions to be performed LIVE at our virtual Poetry Open Mic on Wednesday, 4/29 at 7PM ET. We will select your poem based on its relevance to the theme and creativity. Here are the two prompts that you can choose from:

  • What does “never again” mean to you?

  • Who, what, why, and how do you pledge to remember?
