TIME: Screening at 6PM ET / 3PM PT, Conversation at 6:45PM ET / 3:45PM PT | PLATFORM: Facebook, Youtube, & Zoom | REGISTER: bit.ly/liberationscreening

Please join us and our friends at USC Shoah Foundation on Thursday, May 7, 2020, for a special  75th Anniversary Commemorative virtual screening of Liberation Heroes: The Last Eyewitnesses documentary. The screening will be followed by a moderated conversation with WWII Liberator Alan Moskin and USC Shoah Foundation Executive Director Stephen Smith, in honor of the Allied Heroes of WWII.

On May 7, 1945 German armed forces surrendered unconditionally to the Western Allies and in the East on May 9, 1945. Allied forces proclaimed May 8, 1945, to be Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day). Soviet forces proclaimed May 9, 1945, as the day the war ended.

Alan Moskin participated in the liberation of the Gunskirchen Concentration Camp, a sub-camp of Mauthausen and is a lead participant in the documentary. His testimony is now included in our Liberator Collection and he recently participated in Dimensions In Testimony.

The film is dedicated to all who served, witnessed and shared their firsthand accounts of the Holocaust.

Produced as part of USC Shoah Foundation's Stronger Than Hate initiative – Liberation Heroes explores the journeys of Liberators and Liberation Witnesses drawing parallels between the past and present. These one-of-a-kind stories of World War II heroes serve as a compelling reminder of what is at stake as antisemitism and xenophobia continue to rise, and as a call to action to stand against hatred in all its forms.

As we pay tribute to the Allied Heroes of WWII on this 75th Anniversary milestone – let us heed their call to action!
