Jack Boul: A Conversation with the Artist

TIME: 2 PM EST | PLATFORM: Zoom | REGISTER: bit.ly/3fNtQ7I

As Allied forces liberated Europe, the U.S. Signal Corps was charged with documenting the evidence of Nazi war crimes. Photographs of the atrocities at Buchenwald, Dachau, and Mauthausen taken by the U.S. Army circulated among the troops.

The graphic images of the camps affected Sgt. Jack Boul, a young American Jewish soldier stationed in Italy, inspiring his Holocaust monoprint series. Boul views the collection as his small way of keeping this history alive and commemorating whose who perished. “I thought it was important that they not be forgotten.” Join the Holocaust Museum LA for a conversation with the artist about his work.
