Ongoing Projects & Initiatives
Art Against Atrocities (AAA) is a student created and led project that aims to promote genocide and atrocity awareness through art. During a time in which hate thrives, our goal is to bring together students and create one united message of hope. We encourage people to discover the diverse definitions of what they individually define as “art”: drawings, paintings, music, poems, dances, etc., and describe what words alone cannot.
The Global Interfaith Alliance (GIA) is a youth-led interfaith study group that delves deep into many perspectives along the faith spectrum to counter fear with faith and curiosity. We aim to inspire people to bring the peace and harmony that we have found in each other into their lives.
LIGHT is an incentive-based education initiative founded in partnership with the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh that puts students into innovative leadership roles in Holocaust, genocide, and human rights education, remembrance, and advocacy. LIGHT is an acronym which stands for Leadership through Innovation in Genocide and Human rights Teaching. Through LIGHT, each school creates a LIGHT Center, designates a LIGHT Coordinator, and engages in LIGHT programming.
