Virtual Commemoration: Armenian National Committee of America Eastern Region Virtual April 24 Commemoration

On Friday, April 24, New York Times’ Best Selling Author Chris Bohjalian will lead the evening’s program starting at 7 pm. Friday night’s program will include a regional message from Tamar Gregorian, ANCA Eastern Region communication director, a keynote address from Aram Hamparian, ANCA Executive Director and a conversation on reparations led by Jermaine McCalpin, PhD, the chair of African and African American Studies at New Jersey City University and an expert on transitional justice, genocides and reparations. The evening’s programming will conclude with a message and prayer from His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, the Prelate of the Eastern Prelacy of the United States.

On Saturday, the AYF Eastern Region will take over programming on Saturday from noon to 4:00 pm, including a discussion on continued Turkish aggression, survival and a call to action.

Finally, on Sunday, soccer professional Alecko Eskanderian, will tell the story of the region’s activists, showcase their commemorative events throughout the past six decades and take viewers on a tour of Western Armenia. ANCA Eastern Region Executive Director Aram Balian will close the program with a call to action.
